Why So Many Coffee Pods?
As different as they are, coffee pods all have one thing in common; they’re the thing that single serve pod brewers depend on to help make those single servings of great tasting coffee.
Pre-measured coffee is what ensures the consistent flavor you get from single serve coffee maker pods. Pods are packets of freshly ground coffee contained inside two round coffee filters. Each pod is then carefully sealed in an airtight foil pouch ensuring that they’ll be fresh when you’re ready to use one. They’re so small you can carry pods with you and be ready for a fresh brewed cup of coffee at a moment’s notice.
Most of the coffee pods work in all the different single serve coffee makers on the market today. If you aren't sure, check your coffee machine owner’s manual carefully before inserting a pod into your single serve coffee machine. If the coffee pod isn’t inserted correctly, the water won’t filter through properly. Likewise, if the coffee pod is not filtering properly, the pressure from the brewer won’t have anywhere to go and will build up. That pressure has to get released somewhere and it could end up damaging your single serve coffee maker machine. It's really not that difficult though, my youngest daughter can make it.
Colombian, classic roast, dark roast, medium roast, mild roast, French vanilla, hazelnut cream, decaffeinated—today, selecting the right coffee pod for your morning cup can be as confusing as buying the perfect bottle of wine to complement your meal.
But we all know that variety is the spice of life which is why you’ll find a variety of robust and flavorful coffee pods. Packages of about 18 coffee pods usually costs around a the same amount you would pay for one cup at Starbucks, so go ahead and try as many new flavors as you dare.
Folgers brand coffee pods and Millstone brand coffee pods are both Senseo and Black & Decker compatible!
