Designed for people who live alone, need to rush to work in the mornings, and for households with only one coffee drinker, the Black & Decker DCM18S Brew 'n Go Coffeemaker consists of a brew machine that pours coffee directly into a 15-ounce coffee mug.
The coffeemaker is made of shiny black plastic that stands a little below 10 inches. It is irregularly shaped but it is 7 inches at its widest point and 6 at the deepest. The top is a lid that opens to a water reservoir and a permanent filter, thus eliminating the need to deal with messy paper filters. The filter sits on a filter basket that is removable for ease of cleaning. Both the filter and basket are dishwasher safe.
Brewing is simple as all you need to do after filling the reservoir with water and the filter with your favorite coffee grounds is press a single button. After that, you can forget about it. The machine will turn itself off when your coffee is ready, so there is no danger of overheating.
Coffee drips into a thermal travel mug. It is provided with a lid with a small slot for sipping to keep the coffee hot as well as from spilling. It is made of brushed stainless steel lined with a heat-resistant plastic. The Black & Decker logo and script is prominently displayed near the bottom of the mug. Although its brim is relatively wide, it tapers at its lower section to a diameter of 2.5 inches to make it fit into most cars' cup holders. At the bottom is a rubber lining to keep it from slipping on glassy and smooth surfaces. The handle is made of non-slip hard rubber that also remains cool even when the coffee is piping hot. Like the filter and basket, the mug and its lid are dishwasher safe.
